Story
We’ve proud to announce we’ve partnered with The Matthew Tree Project, a Bristol based charity which works to empower and support people who have fallen into crisis, for whatever reason, to rebuild their lives and create a better, healthier, happier future. The charity’s established model is that those in need come to a variety of local centres to receive food, counselling and to be directed to services, activities and skills training.
However, as a direct result of the COVID-19 outbreak, new referrals of those in need last week alone increased by 260%, a trend the charity expects to continue. As a result, The Matthew Tree Project has completely re-purposed its entire operational process. Right now, they’re running a mobile food delivery providing over 9,000 nutrient rich meals a week to Bristol and South Gloucestershire’s most vulnerable households and we’re doing all we can to support them.
To bolster food stocks, we’re using our cafe kitchens and a teams of BTP staff volunteers to make meals out of perishable foods to prolong shelf life and widen the food choices available to those most in need at this difficult time.
Together, we’re now in urgent need of donations, however big or small, to buy very basic ingredients to turn what would be food waste into meals. So please give what you can, however big or small (just £2 can feed someone for a day) to help us Make Things Better.
Thank you
