Buggy Jogs & Running Mamas - Santa Run 2021! π π Β· 27 November 2021
Hello π
Buggy Jogs was set up during the first COVID-19 lockdown, as a way for new mothers and their little ones to get outdoors to exercise. It became much more, a way for us to support each other when no other avenues for new parents to meet were available. Things grew into 'Buggy Jogs and Running Mamas' to provide a way for child-free running of an evening too, an important moment to unwind, chat it through, while pounding out some stress on the streets.
We have supported each other through our shared interest in fitness and our concern for our little ones to socialise when opportunities for that were scarce. Pillar Kincardine, a mental health charity, helps provide recovery activities to equip people who are unwell to regain positivity in their lives. Pillar is a small charity that has missed out on vital fundraising opportunities during the pandemic.
We're doing a little run and we hope to help Pillar's activities by raising a little bit. Perhaps seeing us out with our buggies will inspire other new parents who might need a boost too, to do similar. Maybe join us..?
Our route! See map attached! We will be setting off on our run from Baird Park at 09:00am. Our route mostly goes through Stonehaven town centre and then on up the Coastal Road and up to Black Hill Memorial or the War Memorial! After a wee selfie we'll head back down towards the town, around the harbour and along the promenade before finishing outside the leisure centre.
We'll hopefully be pretty festive in attire. Give us a wave as we run! Better still, donate a little bit so Pillar can run some of their mental health support activities.
Thanks
Julia
