COAST TO COAST IN A DAY 150 Miles (240 kms) · 23 June 2018

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Friday June 22nd 8 colleagues (6 cyclists and 2 support crew) will be travelling from South East England to Seascale in Cumbria to participate in the Coast to Coast In A Day, sportive challenge.

At 5am on Saturday, the team will be setting off to conquer the stunning 150 mile iconic route which takes in 4500m of ascent road from the mountainous Western Lake District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across the flat Vale of York and finally the Northern Valleys of the North York Moors, finishing by the sea in Whitby.

All the team have been putting in many hours of hard training, to ensure each and every one of us are at our peak fitness to tackle the infamous route and in particular the notorious Lake District passes of Hardknott and Wrynose !

The team are taking on this significant challenge to help raise much needed funds for Dementia UK. A fantastic charity, Dementia UK provides specialist Admiral Nurses to families affected by Dementia. The admiral nurses work alongside families to give them one-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions they need to face dementia with more confidence and less fear.
