Story

Our beautiful daughter Bumble Bee joined our lives on 27th November 2011. Bumble was sadly unable to open her eyes and grow as you hope for your children, but in the few short hours we spent with her, she shared some wonderful wisdom that will remain with us forever. We decided to keep the nickname our son Max had given her whilst she was growing in mummy's tummy! it seemed so right, and means that he will always understand and remain close to Bumble.

Whilst waiting to deliver Bumble, the supportive staff at Warwick Hospital gave us an information pack that included literature from a charity called Sands (Stillbirth & neonatal death charity). Their focus is on supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby as well as promoting research to reduce the loss of babies lives. In the time since bumbles passing their literature, website and support groups have provided a great insight into how we tackle the challenges we have ahead, as well as an understanding that we are not alone... This type of death is sadly too prevalent in the UK!

Despite the pain we currently feel, we are confident Bumbles spirit lives within our family, and we would like to do everything we can to take something positive from this painful situation. In the years to come we will dedicate time to raising both money and awareness to help prevent other families experiencing such pain. We know this will help us keep Bumbles spirit alive!

We would like to thank everyone who gave generous donations instead of supplying flowers for Bumbles funeral. With Gift aid this raised over £4700 for a tremendous charity!

With the help of friends and colleagues we are currently planning additional events to support Sands in 2012 - On the agenda are a Coast to Coast cycle ride across Ireland (May) and a Corporate/Family Volleyball event (June) - Please watch this space as we would love your help and support with these events.

The support we have received is truly humbling and we would like to thank you for your continued support.

Love
