Story

Why I am fundraising?

Everyone has been effected by cancer in some way, and our family have had our fair share of the effects. This is why me and my group are raising money for Cancer Research UK and running our arses off in the Race for Life! Please just dig deep and donate anything you can spare for us, we want to make a difference and hopefully find a cure!! Our family have been torn apart by cancer as I'm sure others have to! My Grandad was my best friend, and I miss him more and more every day! He died last year on the 27th July 2013 and it seems like a lifetime ago since I've seen him and heard his voice. He is one of the biggest reasons I am raising this money, because I don't want anybody to go through what we have as a family, losing somebody so important to us!

I lost my Nanna when I was coming up to my second birthday, I barely got to know her, and I didn't get to grow up with her by my side, and I know others have had similar, if not the same case in their lives, and we're trying to do something to stop it! In 2003, I lost my Great Grandad, I can only remember bits about him, he was witty, loved the cricket and winding my Nan up, he spent his last days in the Marie Curie centre, who were amazing and really supported our family in that hard time! Also in 2013, I lost my great-Uncle Bill to cancer, he was so brave and he fought so hard! It spread from one place to another, almost all the way through his body until it finally took his life. The one thing they all had in common was they never stopped fighting, they never give up, or complained and they took everything as it came with pride and dignity, and I'm so proud to have been part of their lives!

Its too late for those who have fallen, but its not too late for those who are still here, so we need to fight to save them! We shouldn't have to be afraid! Please donate and sponsor us so we can beat this disease before it devastates any more! Please leave your name so I can thank you personally for your donation!
