Burghclere Primary has a long and rich tradition of music with the Brass Band having been a part of school life for over 45 years. There has similarly been a school choir for some years and more recently recorder and ukelele clubs as well as brass and guitar lessons available in school.

All children in the Primary School are taking part in the Burghclere Musicathon on Monday 21 June 2021 which is also World Music Day. The intention is that there will be continuous music happening throughout the school day and there will be lots of opportunities for all children to take part in a range of music activities from percussion to singing, string instruments, brass and even dancing.

We have arranged a number of external groups and individuals to kindly present workshop sessions and performances with and for the children throughout the day.

We are raising money for:

1. Purchasing new percussion instruments for the school.

2. Funding some taster music sessions.

3. Funding a band leader for the School Band next academic year.
