Michael Walby, James Johnston, Stephen Kirk and Atif Salim of Burnetts Solicitors are running the Great North Run 2023 to raise vital funds for the Carlisle Youth Zone (CYZ) to help support the fantastic work CYZ do to support young people in the region.

A trailblazer since 2011, Carlisle Youth Zone (CYZ) is an independent charity that was the first to become part of the OnSide Youth Zone network. CYZ remains the largest purpose-built youth facility in Cumbria, open 6 days and evenings a week for a current membership of almost 3000 young people. Located in an area ranking within the 10% most deprived in England, supporting young people aged 7 – 18yrs (up to 25yrs with additional needs) to discover their passion and their purpose. We welcome young people from diverse backgrounds, providing opportunity to make friends, develop new skills, unlock their potential and have fun. We provide a wide range of positive leisure activities alongside support focused on mentoring, mental health and healthy lifestyle programmes. All have an educational element and engage young people so that our youth workers can do the targeted youth work which helps all members reach their full potential.
