Each year we try and raise money for a particular charity.

This year my heart has completely gone out to a particular family not so far from home. The sadness that has taken over my friends family because of the loss of their nephew - Jack. As a parent, loosing a child is beyond your worst nightmare, but for Jeni and her family this has now become reality.

Jack was diagnosed with Leukaemia on 9th January this year 2015, and then spent the next few months in Manchester Children's Hospital where he received chemotherapy.

Tragically due to other medical conditions Jacks treatment was stopped and he was then allowed home to spend his final days with his loving family. Jack gained his wings on Saturday 14th March and now has the peace he so deserves.

Last year Childflight took Jack and his family to Florida for the trip of a lifetime. This trip made so many special memories for the family to treasure and Jack spoke about his trip until the day he passed away. The Childflight charity is very close to the family's heart and so with our sponsored walk, we aim to give a little something back to the charity to help more families to have the opportunity to go on such special trips.
