The mission of Bexley Women’s Aid is to enable and empower women and children experiencing domestic abuse to obtain and sustain a safe living environment. For over 48 years, BWA has been committed to providing support and refuge to women and their children affected by domestic abuse. Additionally, as the charity has grown, we now also provide community education in the hope of teaching children and young people about healthy respectful relationships.

Story

This event would not be possible without the permission of Parkwood Leisure's Erith Leisure Centre Manager Scott Bartlett, Studio Co-ordinator Traci Ahlers and the 5 instructors; Damian Fisher, Peter Herbert, Jo Kayimzade, Joss Ridgley and Paul Rovery.

The final piece is 29 of us taking to bikes for 5 continuous spin classes to raise money for BWA.

In this world we have many charities that deal with issues we can't control as much as we like, things like chronic illness.

Bexley Women's Aid (BWA) deal with an issue we shouldn't have to deal with. Two women a week die at the hands of their partners and when you consider that 4% of abuse is physical the true picture is hidden from view. This charity provides safety and sanctuary for women and their children.

In a better world BWA would not be needed. We need your money to make life better and safer for those who need protection, help, guidance and support
