Story
Hey all family, friends and colleagues, I need your help and support.
Having hung the running trainers up for the past 3 years, in that time, I lost my brilliant Father-in-law Derek Coleman, lost a wonderful family friend Lisa Young and watched my sister Debbie and one of my best mates Peter S, fight the dreaded disease. These stories, along with other people I know fighting cancer, has motivated me to get the trainers back on a raise some money and awareness for a cancer charity.
I have chosen Macmillan for a number of reasons. They rely on volunteers to run the charity and focus on not only the patient but also the family and friends that are suffering. “At Macmillan, we know cancer can affect everything. Your body, your relationships, your money, everything. But Macmillan is here to help people live life, no matter what. We give them the support to hold on to who they are and what’s important. Life with cancer is still life –we’ll help you live it.”
I promise you all, that I will give it my all in training and preparation through the winter months and I will run as hard as I can on the day. I will be aiming to break my fastest time, if anything to show you all that I am going to work my hardest through my training and preparation.
I will offer a couple of updates as the weeks tick over, but try not to bore you too much.
I hope you will dig deep and put some money in the pot for Macmillan for me.
So here we go, please please jump on the webpage and donate, or email / message me and offer an amount and I will add you to the traditional sponsor form and collect after the event.
Thanks all. Regards Byron (BY).
