Story

Hi, I'm Chris from Harrisons Homes Estate Agents in Kent.  Thanks for stopping by.

Since June 2020 we as a company have been raising money for the awesome child bereavement charity Holding On Letting Go.  I'm proud to say that as of January 2023 we had passed the £20,000 milestone.

For 2023 I wanted to improve my fitness and hopefully raise even more money to help with Holding On Letting Go's incredible work.  I have signed up for two half marathons and will be signing up for a full marathon later in the year.  I hope to raise an extra £5,000 and hope that Harrisons will at least match this so that collectively we can pass the £30K milestone.

WHY HOLDING ON LETTING GO?

I cannot even begin to imagine what it's like for a child to experience grief. To have to grow up overnight and often suffer in silence for fear of upsetting those around you as they deal with they own loss.  The more I have come to learn about the work that this incredible charity do, the more humbled I am.  They not only help children to navigate loss, they give them their childhood back and say it's OK to feel happy and smile even when you have experienced loss.

So I will be running in as many events as I can, hoping that covering miles will bring back smiles.  I hope that you might be able to spare a small donation to help support this incredible charity.

About the charity

Holding On Letting Go supports bereaved children, young people, and their families after the death (or anticipated death) of someone close to them. We help each child "hold on" to precious memories of their loved one, while "letting go" of any painful emotions surrounding their bereavement.
