Cardiac Risk in the YoungVerified by JustGiving
RCN 1050845, SC052581
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Robert Worboys, the 27 year old son of our schoolfriend Georgina Worboys, died suddenly and tragically of an undiagnosed cardiac problem.  Participating in the London Bridges Walk on 26th June is a small step to raising awareness, and much needed funds, to support Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).  Since its formation in 1995, CRY has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD).  CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds fast track referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.
