National 3 Peak Challenge · 8 June 2019
What are we doing?
On the June 29th, we will be attempting 'The National Three Peak Challenge', this consists of hiking up the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales.
Considered one of Britain's toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m).
Why are we doing it?
We will endeavour to absolutely smash this challenge, in an effort to raise £500 for Chasing the Stigma. Chasing the Stigma is a mental health based charity who believe that:
"Everybody in the world has mental health. Everyone.
Yet the fear of being judged whenever we struggle with our mental health is preventing many people from talking about it. At Chasing the Stigma we want to help remove that fear and unnecessary stigma, by using our own first-hand experiences to say ‘I have suffered. I got through it and you can too’. You are never alone."
How can Chasing the Stigma help you?
Chasing the Stigma have created a fantastic app called the Hub of Hope.
"The Hub of Hope is a first of its kind, national mental health database which brings together organisations and charities, large and small, from across the country who offer mental health advice and support, together in one place."
Using the location of web browser or mobile devices, the cloud-based web application allows anyone, anywhere to find the nearest source of support for any mental health issue, from depression and anxiety to PTSD and suicidal thoughts, as well as providing a ‘talk now’ button connecting users directly to the Samaritans.
So what can you do?
You can help, by donating and raising awareness about mental health and the support provided for those struggling with their mental health via the Hub of Hope.
