Story

Hi, my name is Joseph and I’ve signed up to take on the UK Kilimanjaro 2027 Student Student challenge starting on Thursday 26th of August 2027. I’ve lost people I love to cancer, I’ve seen people I love battle it and come out the other side, I currently have an uncle fighting his fight too - I want to do this because I myself have been profoundly effected by the scourge that is cancer but because there’s no other person I know that’s not been effected by this disease in one way or another. So I want to do what I can to raise money for any and all trusts, societies and charities that are supporting people with cancer or researching into treatments and possible cures. One of the most beautiful things about the human spirit is the drive to survive, to fight, to not give up and there’s so many fighting out there with more strength than I can ever comprehend all I can say is I’m gonna fight to reach the roof of Africa to raise some money for a worthy cause and I hope you’ll donate and support me in this challenge.

I'm raising money to support Teenage Cancer Trust, and my goal is to raise £3390.

Teenage Cancer Trust are the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer.

Every few hours, a young person in the UK hears the words “you have cancer”. You only get one chance at being young and those crucial years will shape the person you become. Teenage Cancer Trust make sure young people have someone in their corner right from the start. Their specially trained nurses and youth workers walk with young people from diagnosis through every step of their treatment, and for up to two years afterwards, so they can recover and live life to the full.

Teenage Cancer Trust’s 28 purpose-built units with NHS hospitals are places where young people can feel at home, meet others their age and welcome friends and family, while being looked after by a dedicated team of specialists.

Teenage Cancer Trust receive no government funding so it’s only thanks to donations from supporters that they can continue to be there for every young person who needs us.

This challenge is not just about pushing myself outside of my comfort zone - it's about making a difference too! Every donation, big or small, will help me reach my target and support Teenage Cancer Trust's important work.

Thank you so much for your support, Joseph
