Story

Monsignor John Butchard is taking part in CAFOD's Fun Run Like No Other this Christmas and would love for you to sponsor him. He has ran the CAFOD Fun Run every year since it started 37 years ago.
This year it is  a virtual event on Dec 27th and is being organised because we can't hold the regular Liverpool and Bollington Fun Runs. Fr John will be starting his run at 1pm from outside Holy Rosary Church, Old Roan (his final parish before he retired). Make sure you give him a wave if he runs past your house!
The CAFOD Fun Run is really important to Fr John he loves how CAFOD support people to self develop, he is a great admirer of the Union of Catholic Mothers who were fundamental in starting CAFOD holding the very first Fast Day back in 1960 and he is also running in memory and out of respect for Vin McMullen, the first Liverpool Archdiocese CAFOD Region Coordinator.
CAFOD do amazing work around the world helping people living in poverty. This has been especially important since the Coronavirus Pandemic has caused such hardship around the world. Did you know that £12 can pay for an emergency food package for a family in isolation? And £135 can install one community handwashing point and train 25 villagers in safe handwashing? Please give what you can, every little helps and it is much appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
