Benidorm or Bust · 10 May 2022

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice provide specialist palliative care to adults and children across the Fylde Coast and much needed support for their families. Our services are available free of charge, but with limited government funding we need to raise £14 million every year.

Story

In 2018 Craig, Mark, Martin and Cahal took part in the "Benidorm or Bust" fund raising event.  This involves buying an old banger and driving from Dover to Benidorm on a route determined by the "Benidorm or Bust" organisers, raising money for your chosen charity.

In 2018, we managed to raise over £4000 for Trinity Hospice.

We have decided to do it again.  We bought our banger over 2 years ago with the hope of doing it in 2020.  Due to Covid-19 we are now setting off this year on 9th May.  Thanks to Martin and family for tolerating the car on your drive for 2 years.

For this event, our old banger is a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser which we bought for £275, so we just hope it gets us there.  Up to 150 teams take part staring in Dover and driving via Rouen, Poitiers, Pau and Zaragoza and with some luck finishing in Benidorm on the 14th May.

It is the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this year so we have hand painted the car with union flags.  The photos in the gallery show how the painting progressed along with a picture of the car we used in 2018.

Unfortunately, Craig can't make it this year but has been instrumental in buying and painting the car. We have, however,  been luck enough to enrol a substitute, HRH Queen Elizabeth (see picture in the gallery).

We thought it would be a great opportunity to raise some more money for Trinity Hospice, a fantastic cause, and any donations will be gratefully received.

Please support us on our journey in the "Best of British" banger and follow our travels with the Queen in aid of Trinity Hospice.

Many Thanks

Cahal, Martin, Mark and Craig.
