Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Update! Baby is 6 months old in a few weeks and I'm trying really hard. Aiming to complete by end September. It's all pointless without sponsorship. Please support me.

So - pregnant with no riding confidence, a 'pensioned off through injury' Beau and a brand new Izzy that I can't seem to ride at all, I have signed up to complete The Wobbleberries Challenge - by the end of Autumn 2017 Izzy and I will complete a BE80. This is so far outside my comfort zone I feel like crying if I think about it too much! I desperately wish Beau was not too broken to do it but on a good day she may make it round, on a bad day it would be hugely cruel to ask it of such a genuine ponio, so Izzy and I have limited time to get to know each other and fix my confidence.

Why the heck am I doing this? The answer is simple. Hannah Francis.

If you don't know who she was look up Willberry Wonder Pony and be inspired. I may be a pregnant parent with a predilection for pizza and pasta and nerves of tissue paper but this target is achievable and of my own (well, the founder-berries) choosing. Hannah was brave as a lion in the face of an inevitable outcome.

This is a difficult challenge for me and I am genuinely terrified of the XC element so please dig deep and acknowledge that I am doing my very best to raise funds for this fantastic cause and little Izzy will be trying her socks off with only my terrible riding for guidance! My instructor will deserve a medal if I get round this thing!!

About the charity

The Charity was established by talented horse rider, Hannah Francis, following her diagnosis with the aggressive form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. People all over the world followed Hannah's story which she told through her mascot, Willberry. Tragically Hannah passed away at just 18 years old.
