Cait's Three Peaks Challenge

Three Peaks Challenge · 6 September 2019
In June 2021 I will be climbing the National Three Peaks in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation. The charity aims to research and raise awareness of two serious diseases, Meningitis and Septicaemia.
Last year, when I was the Challenges Officer for the fundraising arm of the University of Reading - RAG - as soon as I heard about the work Meningitis Research Foundation do, I knew I wanted to work with them. I was so passionate about the work the charity does that I became the Challenge Leader for the challenge and recruited the University's largest Three Peaks team at the time!
Students are the second most affected group of Meningitis after children under 5, so the work the charity does directly affects me and my peers. Even though I already knew I wanted to fundraise for MRF, I then heard the following statistic and was completely sure: more children across the world under the age of 5 die from meningitis than malaria, measles, tetanus and AIDS COMBINED! Such an eye-opening statistic, I knew I wanted to do everything I possibly could to support the charity.
5 million people are affected by meningitis every year. Meningitis Research Foundations work is providing better access to vaccines, health systems that can diagnose and treat children, and support to survivors of meningitis. Its time to make meningitis a global health priority, you can do this today by donating using the give now button.
For every £1 you donate to my fundraising efforts, you can pick one song that will go on my playlist for my trek up the 3 mountains. Don't forget to leave your song choices in your comment or message me privately to let me know. Here's what my playlist is looking like so far, don't forget to tell me which songs you want added if you haven't already: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2AT8VPAWaMhB921ozh5QBv?si=YH-SY9wyScei_gkqCzWprA
