The countdown continues to Hyrox ! 

44 days to go till Dan Pinna and Dave Millea embark on Hyrox London. When we signed up to do Hyrox we decided to take part in the singles event, taking the chsnce to use the charity places, to raise money for McMillan cancer support. 

McMillan is a charity that is especislly close to Dave and his families heart. 

for the last 5 years, Daves father has been battling with cancer. After being diagnosed with oesophageal cancer back in 2018 he underwent aggressive chemotherapy and a gruelling 10hour operation to remove a cancerous tumour. Unfortunately this was only the beginning of his journey with cancer. Doctors later discovered a tumour in his right lung, which was luckily removed by an ablation procedure. The journey continued when they found a 3rd tumour in his left lung. Again, we were fortunate that through keyhole surgery it could also be dealt with. Sadly the story doesn’t quite finish there, a 4th tumour was discovered 2 years ago in his right lung. We are currently in the process of finding out if this can be treated. The opportunity of raising money whilst running round a Hyrox course seems a small challenge compared to what my father and others are battling through this disease.
