Running accountability. What I’ve learnt in the past 18 months is that I’m terrible at being accountable for my fitness and running, especially when there are no events or goals on the horizon. To that end I’m going to use social media as an accountability tool and set some pretty tasty goals for 2021. It’s 40 days till my birthday and thought what better way to count down to that day than by completing a 5km run or further everyday up to the 12th of March. 200+ km in the bag should be good training and a reality check for the goals that I have set for 2021. The goal is to complete 4 different distance mountain ultra marathons throughout the year. 50km, 50miles, 100km & 100miles 😳 there will be races/runs in between but the core goal is the 4 above distances. A lot of type 2 fun to be had this year! For the next 40 days I’ll be uploading my runs here and giving updates, if I miss a day I want anyone and everyone to give me absolute grief for being a shitcunt and not fulfilling my promise! I’m mainly doing this for myself but running alongside (pun intended) I’ll be setting up a charitable link for donations to @air_ambulance and @breconmountainrescue these are great charities that rely solely on public donations and provide a life saving service so any donations would be greatly appreciated, with these runs in mind I’m thinking of them as a bit of an insurance policy but hopefully it won’t come to that. Let’s get after it!
