Event: Reading Half Marathon 2023, on 2 April 2023
We offer mental health & advocacy support to help people with their mental wellbeing

Story

I will be running Reading 10k on Sunday the 4th June 2023 to help raise money for 8 Bells for Mental Health who do amazing work and community outreach to help local people in West Berkshire. I am running this event as a substitute for the Reading half which I was unable to complete due to injury.

Eight Bells offer mental health and advocacy support to adults across West Berkshire who experience mental ill health. The charity runs a social group. three days a week, to help people with their mental well-being and overcome isolation and loneliness by meeting and connecting with others. We are a member-led charity so put our members at the heart of all we do. We provide friendship, support and a listening ear in a way that combines supporting and empowering members to lead independent and fulfilling lives. At the drop-in centre, members can pop along for a chat and a cuppa, play prize bingo or take part in training or the many activities that support mental well-being. Our members also organise days out and fundraising events.
