Story
Seven and a half years ago my good friend Tom was killed by two teenagers who had so little sense of any potential for happiness or success in their own lives, that they robbed Tom of his, and themselves of freedom, as if it was of no consequence. How horrifically wrong they were.
The only way to stop this type of tragic waste happening over and over again, is to try and stop producing children whose odds are stacked against them the moment they are born, and far worse by the time they have encountered every negative expectation, barrier and boobytrap that the road to adulthood has to offer them.
Tom's Trust gives 100% of the money it raises (plus interest!) to about a dozen awesome organisations that are striving to give disadvantaged young Londoners a brighter future and a greater appreciation of the value of life, their own and other people's.
I on the other hand, am an over-priviledged, ageing div trying to work off guilt and weight by pedalling an excessively expensive bike along 100miles of cycle path in the company of a few similarly burdoned souls. If you feel inspired to join us, please get in touch and set up your own page. Otherwise, please give whatever you can.
Thanks,
Callum
PS. If i exceed my fundraising target I will post a video of myself having my legs waxed for the ride.
