87 mile cycle from my house to my granny's · 16 March 2019

Ocular melanoma is so rare and the prognosis often so overwhelming, that patients frequently report feeling totally isolated. We advocate for change by uniting stakeholders against ocular melanoma cancers so people receive the treatment, information and support they need.

Story

My name is Callum. I turned 10 in January and really enjoy cycling. Last year my Granny was diagnosed with a very rare eye cancer. She spent a week in hospital having radiotherapy and I really want to do something to help her. This cancer is very nasty and spreads to the liver and not a lot of research has been done to find a cure so I have decided to cycle from my house in Butlers Cross to Granny’s house in West Sussex by the sea. It is about 87 miles so quite a challenge for me especially as I have only cycled 18 miles in one go before! I am cycling with my Mummy on Saturday 13th April doing the route that Mummy and Daddy took when they cycled to Paris in 2016. I will do it over 2 days with an overnight stop in Guildford.

I hope to raise some money for the charity, OcuMel UK which helps people affected by this type of cancer and to fund research into a cure. My aim is to raise over £100 so please sponsor me £1 or £2 pounds. I would be really happy and so would my Granny.
Thank you.
