Story

My daughter Ivy Rose worker was sent to BCH from Burton queens hospital just 3 days old with an infection which they didn't no what it was and never did find out it was suspected to be (strep b) she has 2 lumba punctures both unsuccessful, because of infection she was floppy then they found a heart murmur, she had a bleed on the stomach and kidneys and liver failure she was at BCH for 5 days on arrival she was put on a drip for sugars and salts as her kidneys wasn't functioning Correctly due to infection she was on antibiotics and nil by mouth she had an heart X-ray which found multiple holes of the heart, she then had to undergo a scan of the brain to make sure her floppy episode (lack of oxygen) didn't cause permanent brain damage . So thanks to the great work from the staff at BCH Ivy started to make a slow recovery and was discharged back to Burton hospital to carry on the I V drips of antibiotics unfortunately a day passed at Burton and Ivy suffered SVT where her heart beat peaked at 290 BPM .
With the help of dr Miller assisting the Dr at Burton by telephone they was able to bring Ivy's heart rate back to a stable 140BPM .

We then spent the next several days with Ivy in hospital seeing the course of antibiotics out and her observations slowly came back to being stable over a long period of time and we was discharged .

From then we have recieved great support from BCH which is on going for Ivy's heart.
Ivy has 2 little hole's in her heart left some have closed they are hoping these 2 will aswell if they didn't they wouldn't never have to operate as they are very small.

WE DO SERIOUSLY OWE OUR DAUGHTERS LIFE TO THE HOSPITAL

The hospital means everything to me and my family. With it being my first fundraiser 2 years ago at times I was unsure about how things would go but with my target being £1000 and raising almost £3500 from my first fundraising challenge I was overwhelmed from the support we got from all our friends and family, I plan on a challenge once a year and intend to make each year harder pushing me well beyond my limits and out of my comfort zone  last year we got as much support as the year before  as not only are we climbing 3 mountains in 24 hours we will be having barely no sleep and traveling from Scotland to England to Wales on top of that all in 24 hours so we are up against it .

Last year we raised almost £7,000 climbing 3 peaks and doing a family fun day ! Which was just AMAZING!!!!!

This year me and my close mate joe Elkin adam Shephard rich cope and Ben sherriff  are challenging ourselves in a 110 mike trek from Skegness back to Woodville , this should take 32 hours to walk straight through we going to aim for 28 hours but what we are doing is over 4 marathons in around the 24 hour mark which I think is going to be very hard with no sleep etc but with the support of all you guys we’re sure we will complete it like the last 2 years

last but not least thank you so much for taking time to read this and I hope you can support us many thanks Callum And joe
