Big Ride for Africa 2021 · 13 September 2021 to 16 September 2021 ·

Street Child's purpose is to see all children safe, in school and learning - especially in low-resource environments and emergencies. We work with an expanding network of local organisations for lasting impact in over 20 of the world’s toughest countries across sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Europe.

Story

I have decided to join my family member on this 170km cycle in the Chiltern Hills to raise money for Street Child.

Street Child's sustainable strategy to enable long-term education for underprivileged children in the world's most devastated and impoverished countries is incredibly admirable. Their belief is that "achieving universal basic education is the single greatest step towards the elimination of global poverty".

Their authenticity is what compels me to strongly support and believe in them: a charity who care about making a difference by combating the wide gap in opportunities depending on where you live. This is apparent notably through their approach in placing local communities on the front lines of their aid to maintain long-term change. A prime example of this in practise is their determination to maintain their work in Afghanistan during the most recent crisis, while many others fled.

I believe that this charity aligns greatly with my values and am very passionate about supporting them in the small way that I can by participating in Street Child's Big Ride 2021. Any donation or support would be immensely appreciated, no donation is too small to make a difference!
