Calverley United U13 - 2.6 Challenge · 26 April 2020

St Gemma's Hospice is a local, independent charity providing the best possible care and support for people in Leeds with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We support patients and their families, both in the Hospice and in the community, at any stage of their illness.

Story

We are Calverley United JFC’s U13 team. We have been undertaking many different challenges throughout lockdown that our coaches have set for us and we are now up for a challenge to raise some money for the charity, St Gemmas Hospice, in Leeds.

St Gemma’s Hospice is a fantastic charity that provides care and support for local people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Many charities like St Gemma’s Hospice, will miss out on crucial fundraising throughout the period of lockdown and they will especially miss out on a day like today as the London Marathon was meant to take place (26th April 2020).

We all know a marathon is 26 miles long and I don’t think any of us are up for doing an individual marathon just yet - maybe one day! Therefore, we are going to go out to run 2.6miles each (roughly 4.2km) to try and run that marathon as a team!

It would be greatly appreciated if you could share the link and wish the boys good luck too. Thank you for reading and all the best of luck if you are doing your own 2.6 challenge too!
