It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

This year we have chosen a Charity which has directly affected a number of people enduring the event.

Charmaine Sweeney had the following statement:

Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a charity close to my heart since my two year old niece was diagnosed with a hole in the heart at birth.  She has received regular monitoring from the cardiology department,
leading to a further diagnosis of a leaking value.  As a result, she will
undergo a four-hour open heart operation later this year and the support and care she and her parents have received to prepare them for this has been outstanding.  It means a lot to know that our fundraising efforts will go some way to ensuring that more families like ours receive the support they need when living with life threatening ailments.
