Our vision is of a compassionate world, free of suicide. Our mission is to prevent suicide and suicidal behaviour, to alleviate its effects, and to provide a forum for academics, mental health professionals, crisis workers, volunteers, and lived experience.

Story

Between Friday 1st October and Friday 8th October as a team we will be cycling at least 85 miles virtually around our Dorset CAMHS patch to raise money for Young Minds as part of their Hello Yellow day and International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) as part of their “Cycle the Globe 2021 challenge”.

Our ride ends on Young Minds “Hello Yellow” Day on Friday 8th October- when we will all be wearing Yellow items to celebrate and promote world mental health day.

Every 40 seconds someone takes their life, almost 800,000 people a year around the world. For each suicide approximately 135 people suffer intense grief or are otherwise affected resulting in 108 million people, annually, are profoundly impacted by suicidal behaviours. For every suicide, 25 people make a suicide attempt and many more have serious thoughts of suicide. Preventing suicide is often possible and you are a key player! We want our global community to join together to help spread awareness of suicide prevention.
