Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·

We are disabled people leading change. Disability Rights UK campaigns for the freedom to live independently and the opportunity to be free of poverty - for the 11 million people in Britain with lived experience of disability or health conditions.

Story

Hi all,

So the time has come for me to start raising money for a fantastic cause and in return for your generous contributions I am running a wee 27 miles in the London Marathon!

A shocking statistic I heard from Disability Rights UK made me think all these running efforts would be worth it...

'People with disabilities are 50% more likely to live in poverty'
......so this charity's work is helping people that experience disability or health conditions to participate equally as full citizens....to help break the link between disability and poverty.

This leads to helping with Career Opportunities – getting work, education and skills -in turn this is going to help reduce the gap between disabled and non-disabled people’s employment and pay.

So please any contribution is a help no matter how much, £1, to £1700?!

Thanks so much in advance.
