Event: Folkestone 10K 2019, on 26 May 2019
This is a campaign to support child refugees who fled war in Sudan and took refuge in Yida camp, South Sudan through Sports

Story

I recently met Raja, a Sudanese lady living here in Folkestone who is an absolute inspiration. She has made it her life to raise money to support the refugee children back home and give them a better life than the one they have been dealt, by providing them with sporting opportunities they would otherwise be unable to access.

These children have already in their short lives suffered more than we could imagine, often having seen their parents killed, leaving them orphans and refugees with little hope.

Talking to her made me realise just how lucky we are in our country to be able to raise and enjoy our children without any of these dreadful fears that are sadly the reality for people living in war torn countries like Sudan.

I will be running the Folkestone 10k on 26 May and hope to gain sponsors for this which will be our contribution to a cause I feel  is very worthwhile.  Thank you for reading 😘
