Camille's Expedition to Borneo

Raleigh Expedition · 31 December 2022 ·
Hi everyone,
Here I go again, off on another Raleigh Expedition! I am so excited to say that I will be volunteering for sustainable development charity, Raleigh International, for 3 months over the summer. This time I will be going to Malaysian Borneo as a Volunteer Manager, in the logistics team.
A bit more about Raleigh - it is a youth driven sustainable development charity creating meaningful change and long-lasting development impact. Delivered through young volunteers, their programmes focus on developing youth in civil society, building livelihoods, promoting natural resource management, and improving water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). Find about more about Raleigh here: https://raleighinternational.org/
My previous expedition with Raleigh in Tanzania involved trekking a total of 250km, and working in a rural village with the aim of improving the community's access to safe water and sanitation. This experience was life changing and shaped who I am today. Since the Expedition in 2016 I was extremely fortunate to start working at Raleigh's head office in London, firstly as an intern and now as a Volunteer Coordinator. This has given me an even deeper insight into the work Raleigh does and the different opportunities available.
My role in Borneo as a Logistics Coordinator will involve working in the country office, contributing to the smooth running of the expedition - ensuring all food and equipment are appropriately organised and distributed to the venturers.
As a volunteer I will need to fundraise before I go - all donations made will go directly to Raleigh, ensuring they can continue delivering these incredible projects in communities around the world.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please donate, however big or small! I would appreciate it so much :)
Camille xx
