Walk 100km from Sarria to Santiago De Compostela · 15 March 2020

Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We work in over 70 countries - in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics. We are independent, neutral and impartial. We provide medical care where it's needed most.

Story

We are in Year 9 at Alderley Edge School for Girls and on Sunday 15 March, we will be travelling to Camino de Santiago in Spain to walk a distance of 100km from Sarria to Santiago De Compostela in order to raise money for the charity, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders).

We will be walking with 22 pupils from schools in France, the Netherlands and Spain as part of our Erasmus+ project and upon arrival at our destination, will be singing with them as a unified choir in recognition of the vital work that
Médecins Sans Frontières undertake, such as providing lifesaving medical care and humanitarian aid to those who experience natural disasters such as tsunamis, war or famine.

Médecins Sans Frontières and their teams support millions of people annually, whether through immediate emergency response or their pre-packaged disaster kits.

Every little helps but as an example:

£8.00 would cover the cost of a doctor in the field for a day, treating
people in a crisis zone.

£18.00 provides a year’s supply of antiretroviral drugs for one person living with HIV/AIDS.

£30.00 would cover the cost of a basic surgical kit.

We hope you can support us!
