Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.I have a serious brain condition known as Arnold Chiari Malformation, I was told that my brain is too big for my skull and has come out of the bottom and is sat on my spine. I have suffered more than 20 years from what i was led to believe as severe migraines and cluster headaches. I was finally diagnosed with having Chiari (kee-ar-ee) in October 2009. On the 10th September 2012 I had brain surgery, which is not a cure, to relieve the many symptoms i had..the main one being severe headaches that simply put my life on hold, which was very difficult has i have 5 children. My Neurosurgeon, Tom Carroll at Sheffield Royal Hallamshire performed not only my surgery that day but in my opinion he peformed a miracle and gave me a second chance to lead as normal life as possible. I am pain free. My reason for wanting to climb Mount kilimanjao is to raise money for the Ann Conroy Trust to enable them to continue their fantastic work by helping and supporting many others and also raising awareness of a barely recognised condition that affects so many people. i know i have to overcome so many obstacles in my attempt to climb Mount kilimanjaro, the hardest being trying to raise the minimum of £3,500 . I am asking all who visit my page that any donation no matter how small will make a huge impact on many people's lives. I aim to raise awareness about this condition and when i stand right there at the top of the summit...i will not be standing alone...i will be standing there for the many sufferers in the hope of giving them a brighter future.
