Story
I’ve decided to run my first ever half marathon for MIND 🏃♀️
I’ll be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 10th October 2021.
If you can donate to help me reach my fundraising goal of £1000, I will be forever grateful 🤍
If not, no worries! I know times are tough at the moment. You can still support me by sharing this page on your social media or with friends and family. Or even better - you can add a song to my half marathon Spotify playlist (anything that gets you feeling motivated!!)

Why MIND?
MIND is a charity that I have supported for some time now. I have had my own experiences with mental health problems and having worked as a mental health professional, I know first hand how important their work is. Mental health awareness has improved so much in recent years but there’s still more to be done. MIND does amazing work in helping people to understand mental health, break taboos and offer support. Please help me reach my fundraising goal so that we can help MIND help so many more people.
The money we are raising could help...
- cover the costs of an online peer support group
- fund the info line, so people can call for support
- fund campaigns for better mental health services from the Government
- pay advisors for in person support
Why running?
Having struggled with negative body image for so many years, exercise has always just been a means to lose weight and shrink myself.
Whilst actively seeking a healthier relationship with my body, I was worried I would never find a way of moving my it which didn’t take me back to that place of weight loss being the only goal.
Then I found running! Within the running community, I rarely hear talk of weight loss. It’s all about getting in those KM’s or achieving PB’s!
I have a new found admiration for my body. Taking me further and faster, stride by stride, continually amazing me at what it can do. I run to be a stronger, more resilient and determined version of myself, NOT to shrink my body
