Cycle to Cannes · 28 January 2008
5 days...1,500km's...and lots of pedaling!
That's right, the four of us are cycling to Cannes! Not in the warm summer sunshine or with the support of cheering fans, but in the middle of winter, with only each other and a few curious on-lookers for company!
Along with 140 other cyclists, we're attempting to raise £500,000 to be shared amongst 5 charities which all seek to make a difference to people's lives by providing support and opportunity.
The charities are Land Aid, Architects for Aid, The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust, The Sarah Matheson Trust and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. A4A is the recipient charity, which will equally distribute the money raised amongst the charities.
As you can see, our challenge is two-fold: surviving the 1,500km (the easy bit) and reaching or exceeding our group target of raising £12,000 in order to contribute to the £500,000 event target.
So, please dig as deep as you can because every penny donated will make the ride seem easier and be going straight to charities that make a difference to people's lives.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Architects for Aid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
