Story

The Capco Scotland running club have set ourselves the challenge of taking part in several running events this autumn, including the 2022 Great Scottish Run and Edinburgh Women & Men’s 10k races all for a fantastic cause, the Children 1st charity.

For the Great Run, our runners will tackle both the 10km and half marathon (21.1km) courses through the city centre of Glasgow and its surrounding areas.  The 10k events on the 23rd will pass through Edinburgh’s historic city centre and surrounding landmarks.

Our dedicated squad of twenty athletes are in full preparation mode: training schedules have been devised (and hopefully stuck to), alarm clocks set for those bleary-eyed 6am runs, hundreds of protein shakes chugged and shin splints braved as they strive to be in peak physical condition to take on these challenges and raise some much needed funds for a well-deserved cause.

About Children 1st:

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity. Some children have little to smile about. They are determined to give them reasons to.

They help Scotland’s families to put children first, with practical advice and with support in difficult times. And when the worst happens, they support survivors of abuse, neglect, and other traumatic events in childhood, to recover.

They help Scotland’s communities to play their part in looking-out for and protecting children.

They listen to Scotland’s children and families. And when government or society fails to hear them or respect their rights, they speak out.
