Breadline Africa, established in 1993 is a Cape Town based charity also registered with the UK Charities Commission. This non-profit org. is one of the biggest suppliers of converted shipping containers to support early childhood development and literacy projects in poor communities in South Africa.

Story

We are a group of friends (12 of us from 6 different countries) who are passionate about the work Breadline Africa does.  Please support us to raise funds for 2 new classrooms at Ubukhobakhe Educare Centre in Khayelitsha - a township in the Western Cape, South Africa. The pre-school's name means "in God's presence" and was established in 2008. It is the only pre-school in the area and very overcrowded with 116 children aged from six months old to 6 years old. They desperately need more space and all funds raised will be used to deliver 2 x 12m renovated shipping containers or a prefabricated structure.  Thank you for supporting us we take part in the largest, timed cycling event in the world: see: www.capetowncycletour.com
This year is the 39
th year of the race, and on Sunday, 6 March, 12 of us will make up the 35,000 cyclists riding the 109km route. Between us, we will ride 1,308kms to give hundreds of impoverished children for years to come a solid foundation for a successful future.

Thank you for supporting us and this amazing cause! Ubukhobakhe - here we come!
