Stockport NHS Charity exists to improve the health and wellbeing of patients by delivering services above and beyond ordinary standards. Our aim is to help patients get better quicker, stay well for longer and experience the best possible care along the way.

Story

We successfully set up a capsule endoscopy service one year ago. This involves swallowing a small disposable capsule which contains a camera that takes pictures as it travels naturally through the digestive system. It reaches parts of the small bowel a standard gastroscope or colonoscope cannot reach and the photos the capsule takes are transmitted to a data recorder worn by the patient. This exciting technology has helped the gastroenterology team look for and detect abnormalities within the small bowel such as: inflammatory bowel disease (Crohns).

We currently have one data recorder and we are hoping to raise funds for more data recorders to help us expand the service. We would like to raise a minimum of £12,000 and we are planning to climb Mount Snowdon. Please sponsor us by donating to this page.
