Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

During the early hours of Sunday the 21st of September I'm going to be taking part in a London (Olympic Park) to Brighton bike ride in memory of Martin Vizzard who we sadly lost earlier in the year.  Martin fought bravely against a rare form of brain tumour called Glioblastoma, which sadly has a 100% fatality rate.

I'll be doing the ride in a Turton FC football shirt.  As chairman of Turton FC, Martin devoted his time, energy and money to saving the club, only stepping down at the end of last season because of his condition.

Most people reading this won't have met Martin and summing him up in a few words is impossible.  What I will say is that he meant a huge amount to a lot of people, and personalities like Martin's will never be forgotten.

As agreed with my cousin Emma, Martin's wife, I'll be raising money for MacMillan; a charity who offer unrivalled support to people facing cancer.

The final part of the challenge, once in Brighton, will be to source a bar to do a mandatory Jagerbomb and make the tribute complete.

To Martin.
