 As you all know my Jim was diagnosed with this awful disease on the 2nd of May 2014 with a shocking prognosis of 6 months to live, but the cancer was so far advanced by the time of diagnosis that it took him from us on the 7th of July, just 9 weeks later.

 Pancreatic cancer is one of the hardest cancers to detect and diagnose especially in someone Jim's age. The survival statistics are simply horrific,  partly due to late diagnosis, usually by the time pancreatic cancer is detected it has spread to other vital organs and therefore inoperable and treated as stage four immediately.Unfortunatley  this was Jims case .So I feel I want to fundraise for Pancreatic cancer uk to help them on their way with research for earlier detection , support for patients and their families , and to raise awareness .

Over the last few months I have been thinking about doing something to raise funds  for them . I looked into lots of things and the Great Wall was the one. I wanted to do something that I would have never of considered before I lost the other half of me... And obviously it makes me smile that Jim would absolutely be laughing his socks off at the prospect of me walking anywhere where there isn't a) shops b) a pub!  , let alone 6 days of trekking including 1000 steps in one go !!! 

Also I have been informed you can purchase leopard print walking poles and diamanté trainers !!!!! 😃
