SUDC UK is dedicated to increasing awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood, supporting families and funding crucial research. Our vision is for SUDC to be predictable and preventable in the future. SUDC is one of the most under-recognised medical tragedies of our time.

Story

On 21st May I’ll be running the Hackney Half Marathon in loving memory of my best friends beautiful nephew Heath. I’ll be raising money for SUDC UK an important charity that is dedicated to raising awareness, funding research and supporting families affected by Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).

We hope by shining light on SUDC, we can better understand these tragedies in order to predict and prevent them in the future 💙

SUDC is the sudden and unexpected death of a child aged 1-18 years where the cause of death remains unexplained after a thorough investigation. 40 children are affected every year in the UK, more than young child deaths due to traffic accidents, fires or drowning and comparable to 1-2 seemingly healthy children dying every fortnight. Thank you for your support.
