Story
In 2021 I've decided to set myself the challenge of completing 1000 miles of walking by the end of the year.
For those of you who don't know, my mum is my best friend and the strongest bravest woman I know. She's also epileptic. A fact that has never stopped her. We've had our close calls. Luckily, we were never put in the position of so many other families whose loved ones didn't make it. Because epilepsy can and does kill. It also has a vast array of various treatments, many with horrendous side effects, not to mention the physical and mental toll it takes on sufferers lives. Watching Mum power on despite all this leaves me in awe, and it's more than time I gave back.
My sister ran a marathon, but you won't catch me running except to catch my train after work (pre pandemic of course) so I decided to take a different approach. I'm going to walk. And while I'm at it I'm going to raise money for Epilepsy Research UK. Epilepsy Research UK is the only UK charity exclusively dedicated to driving and enabling life changing, life saving research into epilepsy. A life free from epilepsy is possible. But only through research. So please, if you have some money to spare consider donating to this worthy cause.
And in the meantime you can keep up to date on my walking on strava here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/27216939
