On the 6th October I’ll be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in memory of Carole Hart, my grandmother who passed away in June 2023. I’ll be running in aid of Alzheimer’s Society whose mission is working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.

I’ve seen first hand how dementia affects the lives of so many people. I am grateful for the care she received in her final days and am thankful for the wonderful memories we created together. My grandmother was incredibly caring, loving and put a smile on the face of everyone she met. 

I am not a runner but I am pushing myself to finish my first half marathon, not just for me, but for her and everyone who is affected by dementia on a daily basis.
