My son Ollie has schizoeffective disorder and although he is on medication for this, he sometimes self medicates with drink and drugs. ADAPT a charity based in Oxford, (Addicts are people too) uses the disease model of addiction with a holistic approach allowing each person to be treated individually. It gave Ollie stability and a community and he thrived there with the help from a fully qualified addiction councillor. I am extremely  grateful for the tools that Adapt gave Ollie and the feeling of belonging which I hope and pray will stay with him.
