As you know, my family has deep ties to the autism community since my two boys, Matthew and Riley were diagnosed with autism in the early 2000's. I am so thankful to my friends and family who have supported my participation in The Autists and LOL for Autism ( and let's not forget Lobster Night!). This year, I am fundraising for Lumenus, an organization that provides mental health, developmental and community services. 

During this pandemic, depression, anxiety, hopelessness and behavioral challenges are on the rise. For me, it has been very disheartening to see youth struggle with isolation and to hear the news reports about youth who don't know where to turn. Even those in loving families are experiencing challenges. I have seen my son affected, and even I have had a few struggles over the past year. 

Through Care Yoga I help myself by teaching and giving back. To help others, I am raising funds for Lumenus. Funds raised through EMBODY YOGA will support Lumenus programs and services who will put the money to work building capacity in Toronto, reducing barriers to system access and creating seamless care where there are gaps today.
