Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After my first half marathon in 2017 I have decided to take the plunge and run another one!

This time I am running for SRUK (Scleroderma & Raynaud's UK), the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by Scleroderma & Raynaud's. They exist to improve awareness and understanding of both these conditions, to support those affected, and ultimately find a cure.

This charity is very close to my heart as my grandma passed away with Scleroderma. Scleroderma can affect anyone at any age, can cause physical disability and it can be life threatening. It affects the body's connective tissues and is an autoimmune condition, which means the body is being attacked by its own immune system. It affects everyone differently and so it isn't always possible to predict the symptoms that an individual with scleroderma may experience. It can also be known as the disease that turns you to stone.

Any money that I can raise will go towards funding scientific and medical research as it is through funding research that further treatments and hopefully one day a cure will be found for individuals diagnosed with Scleroderma and Raymaud's.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
