Carl Green is raising money for Neuroblastoma UK

Edinburgh Marathon 2025 · 25 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Every week in the UK, around two families are told their child has neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. We fund leading research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. With your help we can save more young lives.

Story

Welcome to my Just Giving fundraising page! I am running the 2025 Edinburgh Marathon for Neuroblastoma UK (NBUK) in order to raise as much money as possible.

I am raising money for NBUK to aid their vital research into treating a terrible childhood cancer. I was five days old when my older sister, Wendy, who was fifteen months old, was diagnosed with terminal Neuroblastoma. My mum and dad, aged 21 and 24 years old at the time, looked after both a newborn baby and a dying child until her death seven months later. Although I cannot remember any of this, it has left a mark on my family and those who supported us all through Wendy’s illness.

I cannot imagine what it must have been like, especially now I have a daughter of my own. NBUK are a fantastic Charity and I would be so grateful if you could take the time to sponsor me to help the cause and to motivate me in my training!
