Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April, I should have been running the London Marathon - everyone told me it would be unlikely I'd get in through the ballot first time round...but I did!
Obviously, the pandemic saw the marathon postponed until October, and with normality yet to resume, I now find myself taking part in a virtual marathon. Yes, it still means running 26mile!
I will be setting off with Andy Riley from my home in Fence at 7:30am on Sunday, October 4th and running the marathon distance along all the footpaths and bridleways around Pendle, so lots of hills! We will finish at my house at some time that day.
As many of you know, in May 2019, I completed a Pendle Hill Challenge in memory of my mum, Maureen.
She was cared for at Pendleside Hospice and as a family, we owe them so much.
Sadly, a good friend of mine, who joined me on the final day of the walk last year, Martin Murphy, got the devastating news that he had cancer in February this year, and he died this month.
It's given me the extra push to raise as much money as I can to help families suffering with this horrendous disease.
I know it's late, but if you could spare any money for an amazing charity which helped us so much as a family, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Carl
