Ultra Adventures: Mount Kilimanjaro 2024 · 16 June 2024 ·
Why? & Who?
To help defeat this disease that doesn’t discriminate in taking our Children, parents, grandparents & friends no matter what age!
So we’re 2 long standing friends who’ve both seen the cruel side of what Cancer can do to us and our families.
I have witnessed and felt the devastation of family being taken by cancer and also family who have come through it due to no doubt the research that this Charity has provided, and will continue to provide, all with the help of donations and great fund raising events that us and others continue to do.
So after Simon sadly lost his Mom almost 2 years ago to this horrible disease he bravely decided to raise money for this great cause by doing a boxing event which I could only stand back and admire him for!
Then less than 12 months later we were in the pub sinking a few beers (standard) and he shows me his phone to say what about this?
This being the Mount Kilimanjaro challenge! Immediately we both smiled and I said YES!
Due to the beer drinking at the time I said let’s talk more about it in the morning and discuss it clear headed-but Sie being Sie, (no patience) 20 mins later handed me his phone to put in his card details as he hadn’t got his glasses 🤣 I did and was then greeted on screen with we’re in & all signed up!
I’m more than happy to be attempting this once in a life time challenge with Sie, supporting him but now standing side by side in our determination to raise money for this great cause.
We will train and give it our best to complete this challenge and conquer the mountain even though our average age is 50!
At that I want to say thank you in advance to all who find it in their hearts to donate to this cause and eventually we may be able to stop this hurting our friends & families in the future.
