To commemorate Ranjan's 75th birthday she has decided to have all her hair shaved off in April 2021 (subject to hairdressers being open) All money that is donated will be going into Fund 100 including our work in Cancer Care at Barnet Hospital.
Here is Ranjan's story:
I am an Asian Ugandan refugee who came to the UK in 1972 after being thrown out of Uganda. Arriving here with nothing my late husband and I started a new life in the UK and have been blessed to have built and run successful businesses, have three wonderful children, their beautiful spouses and six amazing grandchildren.
2020 was a tough year for everyone, for me being unable to see my family and living most of the year socially distant from loved ones. I have used this period as a time of reflection and im grateful that at my age I still have health. During this period of reflection I realised that I am going to be 75 years old and knowing that there are others out there less fortunate than me i felt compelled to give back.
Hair for any man, woman or child is their identity. Its their beauty and there are some less fortunate out there with terminal illnesses who have no choice in this matter. It is for this reason that I felt it is time to give something up in order to gain the support to raise awareness for cancer patients both young and old.
I have decided to have all my hair shaved off and donate as much money as possible to the Barnet Hospital and their work in Cancer Care.
